Lights to be on PCL (Pilot Control Lighting)

THE LIGHTS ARE ON, WELL OFF UNTIL YOU NEED THEM!

I had the PCL Unit repaired. There was a burned resistor and the tuning was off. The frequency has been changed and it will be 122.900. I ran a test the other night and all is well. The system works with 5 moderate speed clicks for on. It will cycle after 15 minutes. 5 Clicks with make it flash for shut off. If it is flashing it is about to go off. Be mindful of the time in the pattern. As always be careful.

VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON RUNWAYS WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION.

Notams will be required during maintenance procedures.

Maine State Police and the Eliot Police Department frequently patrol the airport and violations of Maine Law and Federal Law will be prosecuted.

Visitors / Tiedowns

Pilots interested in tie downs, are required to contact the owners on the About Us page. Rules and regulations will be posted in the coming months.

Taxiways

We have cleaned and patched the entire taxiway. We also added taxiway signs to ease in aircraft communications. The main taxiway is Alpha, Hanger side is Delta, Kaichen turn off is Charlie, and midfield turn off is Bravo. We have a few more signs to put up and since the owners have recently lifted the PPR anyone can come fly to Littlebrook.

The taxiways should be free of debris, but always exercise caution when taxiing across them. The pavement is old and unpredictable. Parking is to the Southern side of the airpark. Vehicles are not allowed to cross the runways. There is an access road off from Lamplighter lan to the Northern side of the Runway where the hangers are located.

Runway Lighting

The old white lights hadn’t been turned on in ages. The pilot controlled lighting system was struck by lighting and remained nonfunctional ever since. We took the ARCAL box down and are working on fixing it. We can activate it using a handheld radio from only a few feet, but we’re still working on the effective range. The frequency is also outdated, using 122.8 where the current CTAF is 122.9. A new frequency crystal and antenna and we should be in business. It’s a type K system. Click your mic 5 times within 5 seconds and it’ll activate. There are no taxiway lights, PAPI nor VASI, or runway end lights. Maybe someday!

Runway Numbers

The old numbers were so worn, they weren’t even visible from 1100 MSL. The “30″ and “12″ were painted using professional marking paint and they’re looking great! It’s easy to identify the runway now, and they light up great when your landing light hits.

We’re going to eventually paint the entire runway. Center line, displaced threshold, side stripes, the whole nine!
